Hydro map, beneath the map exploit

This is a pretty unique exploit for the Team Fortress 2 map tc_hydro. After viewing the video, I have no clue how they discovered this, but whatever heh. This exploit can be achieved by either using a demoman or soldier. This is great for sneaking behind enemy lines and especially great when using the soldiers ability to shoot through the ground at objects. Here ya go:

Rocket Jumping - Headsonsticks.net

I came across a great video on YouTube recently and wanted to share it with you guys. Headonsticks.net put together a great series of clips that explore the many ways to rocket jump within Team Fortress 2. Without further a due…

The console is a very powerful tool in any game, especially Team Fortress 2. The console enables you to make quick changes to settings, execute configuration files and much much more! The game by default doesn’t come with it enabled, so you will have to enable it. I will show you how and where this feature can be enabled or disabled in a short tutorial designed by myself.

Here are the steps:

1. Load Team Fortress 2.

2. Once loaded, click on “Options”.

3. Then click on the “Keyboard” tab and click the “Advanced” button.

4. Then check to enable the option “Developer Console”.

5. Now, when in game, simple push the “~” key located by “TAB” and it will activate the console. ** Press it again to remove it.

Alternative Method:

1. Right click on Team Fortress 2 on your steam application and go to “Properties”.

Team Fortress 2 Fonts Download

I’ve been asked where I got the Team Fortress 2 fonts I use throughout my site, so I decided to create an archive so that everyone can download it.

Download the Team Fortress 2 Font Pack here!
* You will need WinRAR or another type of archiving application to open and extract the files.

How to install:

1. Download the archive to a location you can find it.

2. Extract the files to C:\WINDOWS\Fonts (assuming that c:\ is your primary drive).

3. That’s all, open any program and use your new Team Fortress 2 Fonts!

Team Fortress 2 Dustbowl Exploit

Have you ever been shot through the gate at the first point in Dustbowl on offense? Ever wonder how they are doing it? I decided to put together a little tutorial showing how you can successfully use this exploit.

Here are the steps:

1. First, you will need to be on offense.

2. During the setup time, run to the right most gate of the offense exit/entrace.

3. To the lower right of the gate, there is a small gap that allows you to shoot through.

4. The most effective class to use this exploit is the Heavy. You can basically unload on the opponents visible.

Here is a screenshot of that gap:

Here is a video of someone using the gap to shoot through the gate:

Removing Critical Shots?

This has been a large discussion in competitive play since the release of Team Fortress 2. I personally think there is no need for them in League/Competitive play, but don’t see an issue on public servers. Well, without further ado, Bennet of trypants.com has announced the release of “TFTrue Plugin”. The plugin introduces 2 new cvars aimed to allow you to enable or disable the ability of using Critical Shots in-game.

Directly from Trypants.com Forums:

TFTrue is a Critical Hit and Friendly Fire management plugin that is being released to the public.

The plugin will introduce two new cvars that allow you to turn on or off the TF2 Critical Hit System or Friendly Fire on your server. This plugin is not meant for public server use, it’s being introduced so that league/competition teams can try the game in what many feel is a format more suited to balanced competitive play.

Respawn timers and class limits are also being explored although no date has been set for inclusion into the plugin.

There will be a public server up some time tonight with the plugin so you can test it out yourself and we expect a public release by this Sunday.

Pipher released a statement on behalf of CEVO stating that they will be holding a Team Fortress 2 tournament with a cash payout. This event will be held and played throughout November and possible run into December. This is the best thing to happen to the competitive Team Fortress 2 community yet. Here is the quote directly from the CEVO website:

CEVO™ LLC. (www.cevo.com) announces today the Team Fortress 2 - $1,000 FREE Tournament Playoffs. The event, which will happen throughout November, serves as the playoffs for the inaugural TF2 tournament and our way at ranking teams as we prepare for our first TF2 competitive league event.

The top ranked team from each group will move on to the single elimination round. Teams will play two matches a week until a winner is crowned. Seedings will be announced on Tuesday, November 6th after all matches have been played and reported.

NOTE: While the group play standings were based solely on the CPI system. The seedings for the single elimination round are completely random. Since the groups were random and there is no real fair way to decide who had a tough/easy group we feel that there is no way to rank the teams at this point.

More information on the CPI can be found here: http://www.cevo.com/?page=forum&func=viewthread&id=4120
